What is the L&B Lab?
The LAB is Landrum & Brown’s research and development unit. Our mission is to harness decades worth of industry knowledge and expertise to develop innovative solutions that support our clients along with promoting industry thought leadership. The LAB promotes knowledge sharing through its blog, the Brief which has explored topics such as Advanced Air Mobility, energy transition, automation, terminal design and logistics, among others. LAB staff facilitate internal quarterly Forums on new technologies and approaches to airport planning, fostering inter-company collaboration. The LAB also furthers internal R&D through discrete research projects and targeted client outreach.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic the L&B Lab initiated an interdisciplinary project to leverage our global knowledge and experience to assist clients and the industry. We launched this initiative to provide frequent guidance on how COVID-19 was impacting our industry and to begin the discussion of what airports and other key stakeholders would need to consider as nations moved towards recovery.
L&B is a leader in industry and technology research through the preparation of several ACRP Reports that serve the airport industry as guidebooks for airport terminal planning, terminal program requirements modeling, and best practices in airport sustainability.
