Project Description
Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport
Client: Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport
Since 2014, L&B has worked with the City of San Jose Airport Department as their Airport Airspace and Airfield On-Call consultant.
In 2014, L&B assisted the airport staff with the Airport Property Map and Avigation Easement Mapping Updates project. L&B assisted with updating parcel geometry boundaries, avigation easements, and parcel ownership attributes as part of the preparation of the final property map exhibits which were submitted to the FAA for formal review and approval.
The FAA approved the updates to the property map in the spring of 2015.
In addition, L&B has assisted the City of San Jose Airport Department with a runway takeoff weight and non-stop flight range analysis for various aircraft to various destinations.
The analysis focused on Runway 12L/R departures and evaluated the allowable takeoff weight/range capabilities of these aircraft given the impacts to one-engine inoperative (OEI) procedures with current and potential future obstacles/structures in downtown San Jose.
The results of this analysis will assist the airport in enhancing air service by understanding which aircraft types and international markets can be served.
L&B regularly conducts airspace height limitation analyses for various planned development projects in order to determine the maximum allowable structure heights that are compatible with flight operations.
