Project Description
Oakland International Airport
Client: Oakland International Airport
In support of the future pavement rehabilitation project for Runway 12-30 at Oakland International Airport (OAK), L&B has providing airfield/airspace planning support to the Port of Oakland and the project design team.
As part of the future runway closure, existing Taxiway W will be converted into a temporary runway in order to maintain jet aircraft operations capability at OAK and to lessen the impact of construction on the air carrier/cargo operators at the Airport.
L&B’s planning and operational assessment support has including various analyses including preparing conceptual airfield operations configuration alternatives, obstacle analyses, aircraft operational assessments, jet blast analyses, and design day flight schedule analyses.
L&B serves as the airfield operations technical lead and successfully led various airline stakeholder meetings and public meetings in an effort to educate the project stakeholders on the various operational complexities associated with airfield/airspace operations, construction phasing and impacts on surrounding communities.
